Puerto Vallarta works hard to make it difficult to cycle here. Steep mountains behind the beach, the streets are cobbled except for the 4 lane carretera going north and the single lane carretera south. South was yesterday's ride, today I did the other possible ride (that's doable on a road bike), the north highway. Just me today. What a difference from yesterday - today 4 lanes full of traffic, flat, industrial and tourist hotels, down to 2 lanes full of traffic, flat, industrial and tourist hotels. On the plus side - hot and sunny, with a swim and one of those jalapeno filled cheeseburgers to finish!
The rest of the cycling group is starting to arrive. Must be a good tour company, I seem to be the only first timer in the group and most seem to have done this particular trip multiple times too. Go figure!
