The southern-most (and windiest) point of the USA

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/56778964  96kms 3300 ft of climbing.
Wow, bit of everything today - from Kona-coffee lushness in the hills
to lava wastelands, headwinds, rain, heat, extended climbs - had it
all today. 96kms from Captain Cook to Pahala, 3,500 feet of climbing.
The link above tells the story. A memorable day for Cathy in
particular, definitely the toughest 1 day bike of her short road
cycling life - but no problem! Toughest section was the 15km slog
through the lava fields into a 30 knot headwind - but all good/bad
things eventually come to an end and we were rewarded with an exciting
2000 foot descent to the ocean!
Stopped for lunch at a restaurant called the Lavalube where the burly
white guy owner/bartender/server would only take food orders by menu
item number, like a Chinese restaurant! For some reason that was
pretty funny!
