http://connect.garmin.com/activity/57151946 . 113kms, 2600 ft of climbing, 4.30 hours riding time.
After the slackness of the last couple of days of cycling it was time to get serious today! Just David, Tony, Cathy and I though - hitting the Pahoa triangle (see bike computer route above). What an amazing ride - tropical vegetation, views, rolling, long climbs, long descents, absolutely fabulous. Despite the boys setting a brisk pace Cathy completely hung in there, what a machine! New territory for her for distance and climbing (again! on this trip). Highlights of climbing include a 650ft slog on the way out and a 1000ft continuous climb coming back from the coast. Awesome lunch back in Pahoa at the Mexican cantina - couldn't finish the quesadillas despite the calories burned today. Hot day - 24 - 25 degrees and lots of sun... I'll let the photos speak for themselves...
