In Seattle, on the way home
Great week, very relaxing. Rented a car and drove north from PV. Two nights in Chacala, the same place our friends Peter and Betty stayed when they built those guesthouses for Techos de Mexico. Then a night in San Blas, including an excellent jungle boat trip to La Tovara and then a really interesting trip to the island of Mexcaltitan, where the Aztecs started their migration to Mexico City in the 12th Century . Ran into a problem with a public long weekend so skedaddled back to Chacala for two more nights. We then drove up to a favourite spot - Laguna Santa Maria del Oro - a lake in a volcanic cratic in the mountains north east of Tepic - for a night. Hiked round the lake in the morning. Then back to PV for a last night before returning the rental car and catching the flight back to Canada.
