Sorry, this is posted late, no cell serice the last 3 days. Today was 60kms which started innocuously enough but then got surprisingly hilly the last half. Add to that 35 degree heat and it turned into significant exercise. Glad I had those prior days and rides to acclimatize.
Punta Perula is an amazing beach but it came across to me as very hot and dusty in that weather. Good hotel though, the Playa Dorado, right on the beach and with pool!
Days start early on this tour, down for breakfast at 7am and heading out on the bikes between 7.30 and 8 to beat the heat! Into the destination by about midday, including a couple of side of the road "restaurant" snack/coke breaks.
